Our history

Catona Residence is composed of three buildings, built between 2005 and 2010 inside the historical Catona Valley, a calcareous tuff rock, called also the centre of gravity of Otranto, in a cove on the Adriatic sea. Catona Valley was incontaminated for a long time, rich in trees and fruits, a big green area until the ‘80s, years in which new streets were built. Together with the other two Valleys (Idro Valley and Memorie Valley) Catona Valley witnesses the presence of rocky settlments and old caves on the promontory; Paleochristian priests used to get shelter in them during the sea raids from ravagers. A nice and kind lady, Bianca, will welcome you to Catona Residence in Otranto; she will satisfy all your needs and she also knows very well the origins of the residence, of the history of Otranto and of the unmissable beauties of Salento.
